This Privacy Policy describes how Quick Paste Keyboard ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. The app is a custom Android keyboard that lets you create, organize, and quickly paste text snippets, with an optional cloud sync and backup feature.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. The Short Version

• The app works fully offline. You do not need to sign in or create any account to use it.
• Snippets and folders are stored locally on your device by default.
• If you choose to enable Cloud Sync, your snippets/folders and your Google account email are synced to Google Firebase to back up and restore your data across devices.
• We do not use ads, analytics, trackers, or sell your data to anyone.
• What you type into other apps using the keyboard is never read, stored, or sent anywhere.

2. Information We Handle

2.1 Information you create (your content)

Snippets, folders, templates, and preferences (theme, accent color, view mode, auto-send, etc.) that you create inside the app. This content is stored locally on your device using SQLite and Android SharedPreferences.

2.2 Account information (only if you sign in)

If you choose to enable Cloud Sync and sign in with Google, the app receives the following from your Google account:

• Your Google account email address (used as your unique user ID).
• Your basic profile name as returned by Google Sign-In.

We use this only to identify your sync account. We do not access your contacts, emails, photos, drive files, or any other Google data.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

• No clipboard contents from other apps
• No keystrokes or typing behavior from other apps
• No device identifiers, IMEI, or advertising IDs
• No location data
• No contacts, photos, messages, or files
• No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking
• No advertising or marketing data

3. How Your Information Is Used

• Local storage: to save your snippets, folders, and settings on your device so the app works offline.
• Cloud Sync &​amp; Backup: if you sign in, your snippets and folders are uploaded to your own Firebase account space so you can restore them on another device or after a reinstall.
• Authentication: your Google email is used only to identify which sync data belongs to you.
• Haptic feedback: vibration is used for tactile feedback on certain actions.

4. Cloud Sync &​amp; Firebase

Cloud Sync is an opt-in feature. If you never sign in, no data ever leaves your device. When you sign in with Google:

• Your snippets and folders are stored in Google Firebase Cloud Firestore, under your authenticated user ID.
• Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In.
• Synchronization is offline-first: changes are queued on your device and pushed to the cloud automatically when an internet connection is available.
• Only data you explicitly create in the app is synced. The keyboard does not capture or sync anything you type in other apps.

Your synced data is stored under your own Google/Firebase account and is not shared with any other user. Firebase's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google Cloud Privacy Notice.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We only share data as described below:

• Google Firebase — used solely to provide the optional Cloud Sync and Backup feature, and only when you sign in.
• Google Sign-In — used to authenticate you for Cloud Sync.

We do not share data with advertisers, analytics providers, social networks, data brokers, or any other third parties.

6. Data Retention &​amp; Deletion

• Local data: stays on your device until you uninstall the app or delete the snippets/folders yourself. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
• Cloud data: remains in your Firebase/Firestore account while Cloud Sync is enabled. You can remove your synced data by signing out of Cloud Sync within the app, or by requesting deletion at the contact email below.

7. Permissions Used

• Input Method Service (BIND_INPUT_METHOD) — required for the app to function as a custom system keyboard.
• INTERNET — required for the optional Cloud Sync feature (Firebase). Not used for anything else.
• VIBRATE — used for light haptic feedback on certain actions.

The app also uses a private on-device ContentProvider and SharedPreferences to share settings between the keyboard service and the main app on your device. This data never leaves your device.

8. Security

Your synced data is transmitted over secure (HTTPS/TLS) connections to Firebase. Access to your synced data is restricted to your authenticated Google account. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has signed in and created synced data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Your Rights

• Access &​amp; control: you can view, edit, and delete your snippets and folders at any time inside the app.
• Opt out of sync: you can sign out of Cloud Sync at any time; the app will continue to work fully offline.
• Deletion: uninstalling the app deletes all local data. You may request deletion of your cloud-synced data via the contact below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
